The Home and Family has a standing mission which is to “Build Christ-centred families”. Every year in the month of May, special services are held under various sub-themes to uphold the value and essence of families in the church. It is in that understanding that God is concerned about families for they are important units in the community. “A strong family makes up a strong community and a strong community forms a formidable society”. Such strong and steady families have Christ at the centre of their life.

We hold this year services under the theme “A family that is filled with The Holy Spirit…walks in love, light, wisdom and submission one to another”. The scripture for this year’s theme is taken from the church theme text which is Ephesians 5:1-33. 

These services are conducted under a background of families that have been affected immensely by the advent of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are ministering to families that have faced such challenges like loss of employment, domestic violence, increased teenage pregnancy to mention but a few. All these challenges do not mean that God is not aware or is He distant from His people; but the emphasis is that even as families go through all that God is present. So God helping us, through His Holy Spirit we are to bring healing, restoration and peace in families. 

Weekly teaching, preaching and Bible Study discussions are being held to instil a mind-set where love is the foundation of every family, walking in the light of God is a priority, seeking wisdom and submission one to another is a way of life.
